Jon Garvey wrote, arranged and recorded all the music on to hard disk, as always with the help of Potiphar, but of course it’s far from perfect. However, Linda Pearce sang backing vocals on Holy which helped redeem things.

Jon played a blue Tokai Strat (nearly as good as a Fender, they say), a fireburst Alvin Davies 12-string (almost like a proper Rickenbacker), an old £15 Ariana acoustic (a passable Martin sound, only quieter), a silver 1930 Selmer alto sax (first recording since 1938), a 1937 Martin Handcraft tenor sax (first recording since 1949) – both could use a re-pad - and the usual E-mu Proteus and Creative Audigy synths via a Roland PC-300 keyboard to imitate everything else. Drums were a Yamaha Rock Tour kit (sampled, of course – in virtual green sparkle finish). Everything was compressed to bits because Chris said this is rock & roll. Well it is, of a sort.

Thanks to: Cynth for everything; brilliant kids Martyn, Jo and Aly for ignoring my age; Mum; Nig; Alvin; Chris; Elizabeth Grogan; Insur & Lena; Tim Mac; Hank Marvin; Hosea ben Beeri.
